Tuesday
Not a lot of zines left to sell on Sunday on another decent afternoon. 3-1 said someone, 3-0 said I ! Alex Harley scored 32 goals in 1962/63 not 30, I was told, so that’s one to check.
Per Arne Rennestraum and his missus said hello and handed over number 104 of their Scandanavian, True Blue magazine which is phenomenal. A5, colour, 100 pages, but nearly all in Norwegian. Greart piece by Didsbury Blue Mike Jenkinson on season 65/66, plus a little tribute to KOTK for our 25 year anniversary. Ta very much.
Not a vintage display by the Blues until the second half, and we always score at the North end. Nasri top man, using some muscle, and good substitutions by Manuel.
Vinny could be back tomorrow, here’s the It’s A Fix extract from KK210 :
14)  WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 4Th WBA (AWAY) KO 8PM

4TH season in the Prem (this time) Last trophy FA Cup 1968, recent connections Nic Anelka and Scott Sinclair  133rd lg meeting.

Some celeb fans : Frank Skinner, Julie Walters, Lennie Henry, Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood, Dave Haslam, Cat Deeley, Adrian Goldberg, Adrian Chiles, Judas Priest

Last season : At the Etihad in May it was a 1-0 unconvincing City win, when we thought we had one eye on Wembley, but they were just trying to get Mancini sacked. Dzeko scored the goal after 34 minutes. Crowd was 46:58 with 515 Baggies.
They finished in 8th place with 49 points.
In the Capital One Cup they went out 2-1 at home to Liverpool in the 3rd rd.
In the FA Cup they lost 1-0 at home to QPR in the 3rd rd

This season so far : They’re in 12th place with 15 points from 13 games and 2 wins 2 draws and 2 losses at home
In the Capital One Cup : They beat Notts County 3-0 home, but went out to Arsenal at home on penalties after 1-1

Our form at the Hawthorns : Last October  it was a 2-1 City win. Milner was sent off then Long put them ahead (67) but supersub Dzeko scored 2 (80, 90) to clinch the win in the last ten minutes. Crowd was 24,891 with 2575 Blues.
Prior to that a draw, a win and 3 losses.
For City : WDWLLLW

Groundwise : M6, M5, A41 with a few local car parks. Same spot as usual, RHS of the stand behind the goal. Big walk after the game all round the houses to get back to the car, but they must have their reasons!

The Hawthorns :Capacity :28,003 (1500 plus for City)

Comment : Signings included Sessignon £6.5M, Anichebe £6M, Anelka and Scott Sinclair whilst main departures were Odemwingie £2.2M, plus Lukaku went back to Chelsea then on to Everton
Good start to the season again for the Baggies under Steve Clarke, but wobbling a bit now, though Shane Long is hitting form. Time for a decent performance away from home. A win is expected but not guaranteed.

WTWTWShite: Averaged  9,134 in 1986/87 and this season it’s 25,169.

  1. Kompany back to replace DiMichelis so as to keep the right/left combination, the reason given for Garcia being selected, but no Lescott dropped who has been paying well. Also Kolarov in, makes our left flank look especially dodgy. Dzeko given another go ahead of the beast? If this one goes pear shaped, Pellegrini will have a lot of explaining to do.

  2. It seemed that DiMichelis was at fault for the second WBA goal and after Lescott had done well v Swansea looks like a poor decision from Pellegrini, whose favouritism of Spanish speaking players is beginning to grate.

  3. So an opposition player actually makes a good turn and it's Pellegrini's fault. Dzeko and Kolarov both had strong games justifying his selections. Pellegrini pefers ball playing defenders as did Mancini which is why I suspect why Lescott star is waning. Pantilimon also said in interview that he has no problem speaking English. It was a solid performance and City took their foot off the gas at the end which I'm confident will be addressed.

  4. It was touch and go in the second half, because apar from our penalty, can barely remember a threat we produced. Bt if Chelsea can go to Sunderland and get a close 4-3 win, we should be content with the three points. Still not the finished article, but we look a lot better than a month or so ago and we weren't that bad back then. The games against Sonton and Arsenal will tell us much more.
