Wednesday

Wednesday
Plzen tonight, after a ludicrous article in the manumirror re Joe Hart going out on loan, and Begovic coming in.
Do me a favour. Joe’s back in tonight  so let’s see if the rest has done him good. He had a good game for England with just the one rush of blood but at least he gave Smalling a whack so could be forgiven. Watch out for ironic but humorous cheers every time he gets the ball .

Here’s the brief  It’s A Fix extract from KK 210:

12A) WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 27TH CHAMPS LG MD 5: VIKTORIA PILZEN (HOME) KO 7.45PM

We did well in the away leg after a few close things in the first half. Dzeko opened (48) YAYA (53) made it two and Sergio (58) put the icing on the cake. Crowd was 11, 281 with 729 Blues.
Since then they’ve lost 3-2 at CSKA, 5-0 at Bayern and 1-0 at home so are the fall guys of the group. It should be a comfy win then, provided we’re not over confident.
This season so far they’re in 2nd place with 31 points from 14 games, 9 wins, 4 draws 1 loss and 5 points behind leaders Sparta Prague.

See you there

Dave

  1. Match mainly useful for confirmation that our second string of players in the "best squad in premiership" are nowhere near good enough. Kolarov less able than Cliche who is all over the place at the moment, DiMichelis looks knackered already, Garcia! Watch the TV build up to Plzen's first. The guy who scored was alongside Garcia, peeled away and he didn't even know he'd gone, absolutely hopeless and, apparently, Napoli are interested in him, let's hope that's true. Dzeko, lord was he bad! Got his usual goal, but the rest of his play was hopeless.
The form players as good as usual, Sergio, Nasri, Ferdy and Navas, Beast and YaYa when they came on. So it's second place and the wait to see who Twatini will give us. My money's on Barca, or Dortmund if they top their group.

  2. Kolarov captain? Surely Richards, Milner Lescott would have been better options... Our captain also seemed to go missing around the Plzen goals. Strange selection, even stranger substitutions though both Navas and Negredo made a difference. I'm still not confident Pellegrini knows what he's doing.
