Looking forward to tomorrow:
It’s Everton, a bit of a bogey side under Moyes, but a new era starting under Martinez, and a confidence booster needed for Joe and the boys after two losses. Here’s the It’s a fix extract from KK208:
7) SATURDAY OCTOBER 5TH : EVERTON (HOME) KO 12.45PM
Last promotion was in 1954, millionaires of the 60’s, last pot FA Cup in 1995, 161st league meeting, recent connections Jack Rodwell, Gareth Barry
Some celeb fans : Andy Burnham (Leigh MP and future PM), Freddie Starr, Amanda Holden, John Conteh, John Parrott, Ian Astbury, Ian McCulloch, Austin Healey, Matt Dawson, Jimmy from Stolen Haven, Degsy Hatton
Last season : At Goodison in March it was a desperately disappointing 2-0 loss. Osman (32) Jelavic (90) Pienaar sent off.
Crowd was 36,519 with 2,957 Blues
This season so far: They’re in 4th place with 12 points from 6 games and 1 win 2 draws and 0 losses away.
In the Capital One Cup they beat Stevenage 2-1 at home aet, but lost at Fulham away in the 3rd round
Form v Everton at the Etihad last September it was that 1-1 draw. Fellaini, who else, opened for the Toffees (33) and Tevez equalised (43 pen). Crowd was 47,386 with 2,834 Toffees. Prior to that it was the 2-0 win in 20011/12, after 4 losses.
For City it’s : DWLLLLWWLWWWLWWL
Comment: Moyes finally went to the rags and he was replaced by nice guy Roberto Martinez. So it might be a surprise to see Everton go back to their School Of Science days, or not.
The peoples club changed the logo in summer but forgot to involve…..the people! But now they have!
Transfers in include McCarthy, Kone, Alcatraz, Robles, Barry and sensationally Lukaku from Chelsea on loan who did great for WBA last season.
Hitsperger, Phil Neville, Antichobe (I think) Bidwell have all departed plus, of course Fellaini but they’ve hung on to Baines and Jagielka, plus Ross Berkley is the one to watch.
Will their fans arrive all claiming in the whiplash scam?
Bit of a bogey team at the moment so any result will be a good one for us and a marker for Manuel’s management capabilities.
WWTWTWShite: Averaged 19,343 in 1983/84 and last season it was 36,355
