Tuesday night

Tuesday night
Met up with Graeme, our KK designer in the Trafford Centre, when he predicted that the rags would go out to Real M.
We then went on to watch the incredible ‘Life of Pi’
6.10 performance. Came out to find that the rags were 1-0 up, being shown in The Orient. We got out quick and on the way passed a young lad coming in wearing his City shirt. “Brave boy”
By the time we got home our Boy told us they were out, so obviously we then watched Holby (recorded) and then the match. Turns out Madrid had a good goal disallowed, rags goal was an og, Nani sent off for a vicious foul, and Modric and Ronaldo finished em off. So, the big game ended just like us against em with a draw and a one goal defeat. Fergie’s reaction was on a par with Keegan’s “I’d luv it “ rant and Rafa’s “fact” rant – let’s see if the rag press see it that way.
So there you go, they won’t be “partying like 1999” and Fergie has to stay for another 3 years at least to knock Liverpool off their perch and top their 5 Euro cups.
Tee hee

  1. I had planned to spent the evening rearranging my sock drawer but eventually gave in and watch last half hour or so.In the end had to send out for more tissues. Don't buy the "Fergie was too distraught" nonsense. A rare moment of insight and self restraint! Clear that someone stopped him from having a rant the consequences of which might well have been serious.

  2. The press are unanimous in that it was a harsh sending off. So let's get this straight. Perfectly good challenged which got Kompany sent off twice are illegal, but it's OK to raise your foot three feet into the air and stick your studds into an opponent provided you didn't mean to do it. I think I understand now. Does anyone else think that Ramos' own goal had something to do with Far East betting?

    1. Anyone notice on the slow mos that Nani made a second movement of his leg into the Madrid player after the initial lunge, a la Scoles against Zab in the cup semi? Also, Fergie waddling down the steps in fury like a constipated pengiun had me and the misses in stitches.

  3. Yes, I saw that and it was what convinced me that the action was deliberate. What a strange world we live in when only Roy Keane thinks it was a foul and a sending off.

  4. Tony, I see that Besty's brawling partner has taken exception to Kean's comments, but his opinion has to be taken with a pinch of salt. He has to toe the party line because he's still employed at the swamp, apparently he's employed as a greeter in the red cafe.

Whenever a controversial decision goes the rags way Fergie never acknowledges the ref's mistake in case they don't get the benefit of the doubt the next time. As Jeff writes, it seems Fergie's been forced to keep his trap shut.

Anyway I had a spring in my step walking to work this morning.

  7. Not seen a tackle that bad since Eric the fat farmer jumped in the crowd at Crystal Palace, two feet off the ground, out of control, studs first into the chest of an opposition player, straight red every day of the week.
