Tuesday
MUEN had an astounding fanzine type article last
night on who should go or stay at City. Bloody hell, we usually do it at the
end of the season. What effect that must have on the current squad from the local
rag doesn’t bear thinking about.
We went early and the M6 was surprisingly clear.
Parked in the Tesco car park and had a bite in the café where everyone was very
pleasant. The manager said that he wasn’t too worried about them going down as
there were more games in the Championship so more punters in the café! Woodhall,
Ed of the Villa zine Heroes and Villains said much the same. Seriously Villa
should be a Premiership team and after last night will surely escape the drop.
Anyway, I sold a fanzine to Garry Cook, who is now
living in London and involved in cage fighting, though he had a posher name for
it. I said ‘sold’ well he managed £2 and a bit but I was quite happy with that
at the time (so don’t get onto me and ask for refunds!).
“Have you ever won the European Cup” and “You’re
just a shit man united” chanted the Villa boys. “Gareth Barry thinks you’re
shit, so does Milner” responded the Blues.
All good fun. Good win in the end, should have been
better but 3 points is 3 points.
Don’t forget Holby City tonight. Chantelle is in
trouble with Serena and if it’s not resolved in her favour I’ll be writing to
the BBC in no uncertain terms.

Made hard work of it, but good to see Jack Rodwell go two games without inj....
ReplyDeleteMatch was almost a rerun of last season's game at Villa, City dominating the game, getting the lead, not killing off the match, and a fraught last 5 or so minutes. Still, Tevez very good, but Nasri looked like he'd already packed his bags for what he contributed. Kolo good again, and his pleasure at getting MOM off Sky was apparent. He'd be worth giving another 12 months, but only if a substancial cut in his wage was negotiated as, I assume, he's on about £100k a week. Rodwell out again is annoying, as he looked like he could provide an alternative to our general way of playing. Let's hope the issues with him can get sorted, or we'll end up with another Michael Johnson situation.
DeleteThere was a moment, early in the game when Tevez dropped too deep and then launched the ball down the left wing for Clichy to chase, but with nobody in the middle. The move inevitably ended with City moving slowly sideways on the half way line.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the problem with Tevez because he tends to follow the ball and City don’t have a box to box midfielder with the speed and desire to run into his space.
I think Clichy has been poor defensively in recent games. Agree about Kolo, but only time will tell.
Anybody know the latest on Micah “Fit in February” Richards?
Another £40m loss for Liverpool. Don't tell the FFP Brigade.
