Mario/Mancini

Breaking news..And just as KotK goes to print, so news emerges of yet
another training ground bust up involving Mario Balotelli. Ordinarily, such
headlines would go straight to the bottom of the budgie's cage, but this
time it's not Mario rucking with one of his team mates, but with his
manager. A wild tackle on Scott Sinclair seems to have been the catalyst for
Bobby steaming in with the verbals, Balo responding with a time honoured
hand signal, and then a wrestling match breaking out. FFS! Mario's a well
known twat, but Roberto Mancini's supposed to be above all this. What
respect can the players have for a manager who starts grappling with his
players when they get lippy? Properly embarrassing stuff. I dunno, this all
feels like the last days of Saigon to me. Pep's looming on the outskirts of
the city, Mancini feeling the heat and lashing out desperately as a result.
The club needs to investigate and swiftly....

  1. I have to disagree respectively with this assessment of the training ground bust up. It is a no-news item and shouldn't be given any credence but laughed off. All teams and coaches / players do this from time to time. Who cares?

  2. Anybody remember the European Cup Final at Wembley when Barcelona beat Sampdoria in the last minute?
Mancini was the Italian who attacked the referee after the Final whistle and was banned for four games.

  3. I (respectfully) also think this was something and nothing. But, if you have a player like Balotelli (I'm sure he was brought in at least partly BECAUSE OF the publicity) then this is what will happen.

I was making the same point about Balotelli the other day.

On the City website they boast that the club has now got a million followers on Facebook.

Brilliant, but where have these followers come from, especially as that number doesn't include virtually every City fan that I speak to.

In a straw poll, I suspect that Zabaletta might be the most popular player amongst those fans who travel regularly to away games etc.
However an online poll might see Balotelli far higher in the ratings. If these people are also buying Balotelli shirts then it gets complicated.
