Fulham

Fulham
Surprising news was that Saints have sacked Nigel Adkins and appointed bottom of the league Espanyol’s (who’ve just signed Martin Petrov) manager.
Other news is that Carlos isn’t interested in signing a new contract as he wants to finish his career playing for Boca Juniors (though he won’t be a junior by then!)

Radio Manc had a phone in on FFP. Heard  the Alex guy who was brilliant, being a City fan. Had to pass over to Colin Savage for the KK view, who I believe was very good whilst the rag fan was a typical twat, constantly referring to the Champions as a small club.
No wonder……
Think that we should have a ‘Fans against FFP Campaign’ We need to understand the club’s view as a starting point. Whilst we all want to see us be more sustainable, I can’t see any reason why the Sheikh can’t give us a cash boost when he feels like it. Any thoughts?
Cold, cold day but at least the snow kept off. Took up my pitch with two Policemen, who queried the price of the zine, just as a regular bought one, said it was worth every penny, gave me a fiver and said “keep the change” Cue two quiet coppers! Wonderful!
Another fan bought one and told me he enjoyed it more now that we’ve introduced paragraphs! Which was what I hoped.
Stroll of a game but we missed an opportunity to increase the goal difference .
Today Chelsea beat the Arse at home 2-1, and Spurs drew with the rags 1-1 at the Lane. Fergie blamed the ref! No wonder……
So not a bad weekends work, thanks to everyone who bought the zine, and we look forward to cup fever building up towards Saturday…….

  1. 1) A week or so ago, a spokesman for Liverpool FC said something like "When the current owners agreed to buy the club,we were aware of the pending implemaentation of FFP and based our future plans allowing for it." Weren't Liverpool taken over before us? My point is if they knew about FFP and its implications, shouldn't our owners have also been aware of it when they bought out Thaskin.

2)FFP could be challenged in court as it surely goes against all EEC free trade agreement rules, the fact that our owners haven't gone down this route convinces me that they have either a) A plan to deal with FFP or b) Want to use FFP as an excuse NOT to throw money around as they did when they first arrived.
    3) We really shouldn't need to spend the same way we did three years ago as we are now a much more attractive proposition to players than we were when Mark Hughes was throwing money about on players such as RSC and Craig Bellamy. So rather than hindering us, it could help as it will hit others just as hard and so we will have few rivals to worry about.

  2. 1) If united, arsenal, et al, truly want FFP then we should go down the Communist route and collect all football revenues into one big pot and divide it equally amongst all the professional clubs. Thought not.

    2) If united, spurs, and arsenal all see FFP as a good thing for their clubs, shouldn't the likes of Wigan, West Brom, Norwich, Swansea be set dead against it?

    3) The FFP expert Radio Manchester had on said that as an account FFP made sense, but as a football fan it was a terrible idea.

    4) Fergie is that ashamed of his despicable club that he wears his woolly hat backwards so that nobody will see the clubs crest.

  3. United will always earn more money, but teams like Spurs and Arsenal are petrified of the emergence and potential of West Ham if they move to the Olympic stadium.
That’s the real reason and I suspect that City aren’t as anti FFP as we would like to believe.
The last thing they need is another major rival.
